Vice President Kamala Harris, two cabinet secretaries, and Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs celebrated the start of construction of a new power transmission line between Arizona and California.

- The Ten West Link will allow for the deployment of more renewable energy in order to address climate change.
- The 125-mile power line will connect electrical substations from Tonopah, AZ to Blythe, CA.
- It is hoped that this long-distance power line will encourage investors to put money into large solar fields in Arizona's desert to produce energy for Phoenix and Southern California.
- By expanding the grid, more renewable resources can be used when natural sources such as sun or wind are not available, helping a renewable-heavy grid cope with different weather patterns.
- President Biden has set a goal of cutting emissions in half by 2030 and allocated $3 billion towards new transmission lines;California is aiming for carbon neutrality by 2045.
