The EPA has released a proposal aiming to reduce fossil fuel emissions from power plants by mandatory adoption of unutilized technologies. This would be the first-ever federal regulation on carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants.

- The potential impact is substantial: 137 million cars being removed from roads and up to $85 billion in climate and public health benefits within 20 years.
